Role Summary


Manage assigned territory of established customer accounts while working closely with external account managers; developing existing customers within assigned sales territory (states/region): maintain existing business levels through regular contact and selling of RS products, value added services and solutions; identify all new customer- potential and growth opportunities and develop these customers to drive the required sales growth within the territory.


Assist all established and prospective RS customers in understanding products and identify solutions to fit their needs, generating sales and renewals whilst continuing to provide exceptional service and achieve customer satisfaction levels. 


Work with Account Managers to develop a local business plan in alignment with territory sales, margin and RS Pro volume targets- and that feeds into the national forecasting process.


Manage all commercial decisions for customer accounts with solution focused approach and through skillful negotiation, influencing and liaising with internal support services teams. 


Work closely with marketing and sales teams to formulate and implement sales campaigns and marketing promotions.


Work as a team to achieve the overall Key and Standard segment target.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead management; to generate and qualify sales lead opportunities to drive profitable sales growth.
  • Customer qualification; to identify sales opportunities within the assigned territory, ensuring that the largest opportunities for growth are prioritized accordingly.
  • Sales Account Plan; to create a specific plan of action for managing customers within your Sales region, that is maintained on a quarterly basis, relating to the local business strategy.
  • Calls and visits; deliver sales, leads, margin growth, insight and contact acquisition through telephone conversations and ensure face to face visit requirements are coordinated through aligned Account Managers.
  • Quotations and discount investment; demonstrate strong commercial awareness, ensuring that sales targets and business needs are aligned with customer expectations.
  • Use of initiative to identify and develop opportunities with companies not currently on the database.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement through regular one-to-ones, team meetings and ad-hoc feedback.
  • Liaise effectively across functions to ensure customers are delighted


Qualifications and Experience

ESSENTIAL:

  • Proactive and driven in all aspects of work and be able to operate without daily supervision. 

  • Target-driven and competitive by nature.

  • Demonstrable RS ways of working.

  • Highly motivated with probing tenacity to achieve and exceed objectives.

  • Naturally strong interpersonal skills forming and maintaining positive relationship at all levels.

  • Proven ability in delivering a great customer experience.

  • Effective negotiator and influencer with outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to simply and concisely communicate complex solutions.

  • Disciplined analytical approach to problem solving.

  • Shows respect to others and values differing opinions and perspectives. 

  • Seizes on opportunities to create a high performing culture.

  • Shows a desire to continuously learn and develop.

  • Takes ownership and is confident to take risks and learn from them.

  • Strong planning, prioritization and time management skills

DESIRABLE:

  • Proven experience of working in an outbound sales environment.

  • Knowledge of SAP, QM2 and Microsoft packages.

  • Proven knowledge of using CRM functionality
