RS operates a global Supply Chain Network fulfilling customer demand in more than 30 operating companies by shipping 50,000+ parcels per day. Goods are sourced from over 2500 suppliers, distributed via 12 DCs around the world and transported by several different logistics partners.
The flow of goods through this Network demands ongoing optimisation to achieve business objectives for service, cost, inventory and sustainability.

We are currently recruiting for a proactive, driven individual who will provide insight to Supply Chain and the business, using high volume historical data and extracting the behaviour and performance of our Supply Chain, providing visualisations and self-serve dashboards. You will identify datasets with potential high impact on descriptive, diagnostic and predictive analysis, evolving into models for supervised machine learning and moving towards prescriptive and adaptive models in the future.
Building and maintaining Supply Chain KPI visualisations and dashboards
Linking data from different sources like SAP Business Objects via a Hadoop environment to our visualisation tool Domo – for desktop and mobile use
Involvement into smaller projects to optimise the Supply Chain Network
Ad-hoc analysis to find answers to scenario specific questions
Building and maintaining collaborative relationships within the Supply Chain function and across the business to exchange ideas and knowledge
Influencing senior stakeholders by data storytelling to support best possible decisions are made
Take clear steps to learn from both failures and successes
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications Required
Sound analytical background supported by strong commercial skills and Supply Chain knowledge
Good knowledge of SQL and advanced Excel skills, in particular PowerPivot and DAX
First experience in translating millions of data records into information (visualisations etc.)
Demonstrate the ability to challenge, build credibility and work with integrity at all levels within the organisation to influence process changes and development of capabilities for the future business needs
Ability to both operate at company group level as well as capable to zoom into detailed operational process steps
Culturally sensitive with the ability & willingness to operate effectively in a global role
Can lead within a matrix team environment and be an equal team member
Educated to degree level or equivalent business experience
Fluent in English language (written and verbal)
Degree or higher qualification in relevant subject, e.g. Statistics / Operations Research / Business related
Knowledge of our external market place (customers, competitors & suppliers)
Ability to use knowledge and experience of external best practice to drive improvement
Ability to understand business processes and the associated IT systems and data and to apply that understanding to predictive analytics scenario based discussions
Knowledge of process improvement skills and techniques, e.g. Lean Six Sigma DMAIC
Multilingual, e.g. fluent in further European languages
